HOW IT WORKS

Have you purchased your template and are you ready to edit it? Great! I would love to share some of my helpful tips for making the most of your template. It is an especially easy process, and it is very exciting to see what you can create!

FOR PRINTING

To print your instructions, please see How to Prepare your Template for Print for a guide on the printing options available.

What is Canva

Canva is an online editor and application allowing you to personalize your templates without installing fonts or software.

You can open Canva in any internet window, edit, and download and print your wedding templates in minutes - saving you money along the way.

You can also use the Canva application on your phone or tablet, which is very convenient if your images or music are stored locally. However, I would not recommend making complicated or detailed changes there; it can sometimes be complicated without a mouse.

How To Load Your Design

LOADING, SAVING, & DELETING YOUR TEMPLATES

1. Click the Link in the PDF

Once you’ve opened the PDF, you will see one or more links. Each link corresponds to a specific design template. Click on the link of the design you wish to access.

2. Log in to Canva (If Required)

If you're not already logged into Canva, clicking the link will prompt you to log in. Enter your Canva credentials or sign up if you don’t have an account yet.

3. Access Your Design

After logging in, the link will automatically redirect you to the Canva editor, where your purchased design will be opened and ready for customization. The design will be saved to your Canva account under “Your Designs.”

4. Customize and Save Your Design

You can now customize your design according to your needs. Once you're happy with it, you can save it directly in Canva, download it in various formats (PNG, PDF, etc.), or share it with others.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Link Not Working: Ensure that you are connected to the Internet and that the PDF link is not broken.
  • No PDF Received: Check your spam or junk folder in case the email with the PDF was filtered out. If you still can't find it, contact the seller or Canva support.
  • Login Issues: If you’re having trouble logging into Canva, try resetting your password or contacting Canva support.

How To Save Your Design

Canva is designed to save your work as you change your designs automatically. This feature ensures that you don’t lose any progress, even if you accidentally close your browser or lose your internet connection. Here's how it works:

How Canva's Auto-Save Feature Works

  1. Real-Time Saving: Every time you make an edit to your design, Canva automatically saves it in real time. This means that you don’t have to hit a save button manually—your work is continuously saved as you go.
  2. Version History: Canva also keeps track of your design's different versions. If you want to revert to a previous version, you can access the version history to restore it.
  3. Accessible Anywhere: Since your designs are saved to your Canva account, you can access them from any device by logging in. This makes it easy to continue working on your designs from where you left off, whether on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
  4. No Need for Backups: Canva’s auto-save feature makes it unnecessary to back up your designs manually. Canva handles all the savings, allowing you to focus on creativity.

This automatic saving feature is particularly useful for protecting your design work against unexpected disruptions. It's one of the many user-friendly aspects of Canva that enhance the design process.

How to Delete a Template in Canva

If you’ve created or added a template in Canva that you no longer need, you can easily delete it from your designs. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do this:

Step 1: Go to Your Designs

  1. Log In to Canva: Start by logging into your Canva account if you’re not already logged in.
  2. Access Your Designs: On the Canva homepage, navigate to the "Projects" or "Your Designs" section. This is where all your saved designs and templates are stored.

Step 2: Find the Template

  1. Locate the Template: Browse through your designs to find the template you want to delete. You can use the search bar at the top to quickly find it if you have many designs.

Step 3: Delete the Template

  1. Hover Over the Template: Move your cursor over the template you wish to delete. You’ll see three dots (⋮) appear in the top-right corner of the template thumbnail.
  2. Click the Three Dots: Click on these three dots to open a drop-down menu with several options.
  3. Select ‘Move to Trash’: In the menu, click on the “Move to Trash” option. This action will move your template to the trash, effectively deleting it from your main design library.

Step 4: Empty the Trash (Optional)

  1. Go to Trash: To permanently delete the template, go to the "Trash" section in your Canva account. You can usually find this option in the left-hand sidebar.
  2. Permanently Delete: In the Trash section, you can either restore items if you’ve made a mistake or click “Empty Trash” to permanently delete all items, including your template.

Note: Once you permanently delete a template from the Trash, it cannot be recovered. Make sure you truly want to delete it before taking this final step.

Accessing the Template Again

Even after you delete a template from your Canva account, you can still access it again if needed. Here’s how:

  1. Open the PDF You Received: When you purchased the template, you received a PDF with links to the designs. You can open this PDF at any time to access the original links.
  2. Click on the Link: Inside the PDF, click on the link corresponding to the template you want to regenerate. This will open the design in Canva, allowing you to start customizing it again.

This feature is particularly useful if you accidentally delete a template or if you want to start fresh with the original design.

Quick Tips:

  • Restoring Deleted Templates: If you accidentally delete a template, you can restore it from the Trash within 30 days, as Canva temporarily stores deleted items.
  • Organization: Regularly deleting unused templates can help keep your Canva workspace organized and clutter-free.
  • Regenerating Templates: Use the PDF you received after purchase to easily regenerate any template you've deleted.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage, delete, and even regenerate templates in Canva, ensuring your workspace remains tidy and your designs are always accessible.
